About the Artist
Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Shea Smith of Chimney Fish Designs, transforms found objects into vibrant, textured art. Inspired by the relics discovered in the aftermath of Katrina, Her work blends mixed media, including a rich array of found materials, resulting in tactile, layered pieces. Each piece is crafted with intention, carrying the belief that beauty is never perfect, but always possible.

Art Born from Resilience
Shea's creative journey began in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, when loss and uncertainty left little to hold onto, except art. Among the remnants, she discovered renewal. What began as salvaging fragments of her past became a way to rebuild her sense of self.
Using found objects (bits of metal, glass, and discarded materials) she began creating again. It started as therapy and soon became transformational: turning what was broken into something beautiful, something that tells a story of hope.
"I want the people who wear or collect my art to feel it's story."
A New Chapter
Two decades later, that same spirit continues to guide her work. Her pieces explore texture, contrast, and the beauty of imperfection. Whether through jewelry, mixed media sculptures, or painting, Shea is drawn to materials that have lived another life and hold quiet history and emotional weight.
